is lighter and easier to maneuver. Windows allow view of operation and it an electronic interlocking switch for safe operation.

NEW HINGE-STYLE ZWT53/4 VARIABLE-SPEED TRANSFER UNIT 

accurately transports the product from Station I toward Station II.

• Flat belts effectively move the product.

• A quick turn of knobs adjusts the exit point in or out for precise placement of product onto roller table.
• Has independent speed control.

• Hinge feature allows the unit to be maneuvered to allow access and adjustment of the scoring shafts (lower picture).

    Optimizing the production of outsert production…

    • In addition to all the advantageous features mentioned on the MV-11 Triple Knife and MV-11 Double Knife Outsert Systems pages of this website, the new GUK 24-Plate FA53 Folder provides a number of new features that will ease and streamline your outsert production.

    Significant new advantages for you and your customers…

    • The MV-11 Triple Knife Outsert System with the GUK 24-Plate FA53 Folder will fold outserts with up to 350 panels, and the MV-11 Double Knife Outsert System with the GUK 24-Plate FA53 Folder will fold outserts with up to 250 panels—almost 20% more than with previous folders in either of the systems.
    • The 24-plate folder has shorter plates and a lower profile safety cover making them smaller and lighter for easier handling and maneuvering. (These features are optional on all other systems.)
    • The new hinge-style ZWT53/4 Transfer Unit has flat belts top and bottom to effectively transfer product from Station I to the roller table. 
    • With a quick turn of knobs on the transfer unit, the exit point can be adjusted in or out for precise placement of product onto the roller table. 
    • The roller table is now split to allow the carrier rollers to be laterally adjusted, making it easier to align the product precisely. 
    • The hinge feature allows the ZWT53/4 to be maneuvered to uncover the scoring shafts for easy access and adjustment. (The ZWT53/4 Transfer Unit and split roller table is standard on the 24-plate FA53 Folder. They are optional on other FA53 folders.)
    • Outsert systems with the 24-Plate FA53 Folder include an elevated, non-skid platform for convenient feeding and system operation.

    • The 24-plate GUK FA53 Folder (20-3/4"/ 53 cm) is designed to handle light-weight stock for pharmaceutical and miniature leaflet folding. It can be the Station I folder for Double Knife and Triple Knife Outsert Systems.

    • The 24-plate systems can be configured as required by the job.
    • Triple-Knife systems can be set up as a double knife system to fold outserts with up to 250 panels.

    Outsert System Features

    "Intelligent" self-teaching jam detection…

     

    The ELECTRONIC JAM DETECTING SENSOR (1), one of many on the outsert system, is part of “intelligent” self-teaching jam detection. Sensors throughout the system record the timing of sheet passage. If product does not arrive at a sensor point in the proper time, the operation preceding that point will shut down to prevent further jamming and minimize downtime.

    FOLD-LENGTH MONITORS, one concealed above the exit rollers on Station I and one mounted beneath the exit rollers on Station II, measure product coming through and stop the machine when the folded length is incorrect.

    R6 Round-Pile Feeder

    • The continuous-load ROUND-PILE FEEDER is for feeding longer-size sheets up to 56-5/8" (144 cm) long. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

    • The TOP SUCTION WHEEL (1) shielded by a safety cover, aided by air blasts from front and two sides (2), transfers sheets to the register table.
    • The ELECTRONIC DOUBLE-SHEET DETECTOR (3).

     

     

     

    FL3 Flat-Pile Feeder

      Glue Verification System

      • Ensures all outserts are properly secured.
      • Gluing is performed on-the-fly in the knife in-feed area.
      • When programmed for 100% verifica tion, and the scanners do not see glue on the outserts, the feeder will be turned off to stop production for manual removal of incomplete outserts.
      • When the station is used in conjunction with the G&K-Vijuk TTM, CTM, or CM Stations featured on page 12, the non-glued outserts will be ejected automatically through the station, while production continues nonstop.
