A - Features

FOLDING/ DEFLECTOR PLATES

Zero-makeready plates are set up to fold or deflect with a turn of a dial. They are made of durable chromium-plated steel for anti-static operation and long wear.

CALIPER-SET DEVICES automatically set the pressure of the shaft sets. Micro-dial adjustments can be made if necessary.

 


• A clear SAFETY COVER with an electronic interlocking switch ensures safe operation without obstructing the view of operation.

C - Features

Spiral-toothed, hardened, and ground steel helical gears in the synchronous roller drive are slip-free for handling even heavy-weight stock.

• Machine speeds are up to 650 ft./min. or 40,000 letter-size sheets/hr.

D - Features

FL2 FLAT-PILE FEEDER
• Suction heads in the REAR SEPARATOR (1) lift the sheets with the aid of air blasts while a DRUM SUCTION WHEEL (2), shielded by a safety cover, transfers the sheets to the register table.

 

D2 - Features

• A quick caliper-set double-sheet detector ensures accurate feeding.

 

• The rear separator is hinged to lift up and out of the way for easy loading.


• The stacking height is 251/ 2" (650 mm).

CONTROL PANEL for programming jobs—setting up the feeder, production speed, sheet length, gap, vacuum, and sheet suction.

    Description

    A perfect print job can be ruined with folds that crack or are not accurately positioned. For smooth, flat folds and clean, clear scores and slits—properly placed—install a GUK SM50, SM54, SM70 or SM74 Score-Perf-Slit Unit. The units are small in size, so they are the ideal solution for improving the quality of production.

     

    Customize to suit your requirements…

    • SM Units fit in new or existing systems.
    • SM Score-Perf-Slit Units handle paper weights from 30 lb. offset to 110 lb. cover.
    • Choose from the following format widths: SM50—20-3⁄8", SM54—21-1⁄4", SM70—28-1⁄4", or SM74—29-1⁄8".
    • The SM50 and SM70 Units come with 2 sets of shafts. Each set has an upper and a lower shaft with 6 urethane / steel rollers per shaft.
    • The SM54 and SM74 Units are equipped with four sets of shafts.
    • Pictured above is an SM50 FL2 Score-Perf-Slit System equipped with an FL2 Flat-Pile Feeder and S520 Shingle Delivery—one of many system variations.
    • All GUK SM Score-Perf-Slit Units are available with hydraulic height-adjustable bases, so the alignment tables can be incorporated with a number of GUK folders and direct mail producing systems—or other brand digital presses, stitchers, or related primary machines.
    • Machine speeds are up to 650 ft./min. or 40,000 letter-size sheets/hr.

    FL2 Flat-Pile Feeder


    • Feeds sheets up to 33-3/8" (80 cm) in length. Its maximum pile height is 25-1/2" (65 cm).
    • Suction heads lift the sheets at the REAR SEPARATING FEED SYSTEM. Air blasts aerate and separate the sheets making it possible to feed long difficult-to-handle sheets.
    • A DRUM SUCTION INFEED WHEEL, shielded by a safety cover, transfers the paper onto the registration table toward the folding rollers.
    • A quick caliper-set double-sheet detector ensures accurate feeding.
    • The rear separator is hinged to lift up and out of the way for easy loading.

    FL3 Flat-Pile Feeder

    • Feeds sheets up to 40-7/8" (104 cm) in length. Its maximum pile height is 27-1/2" (70 cm).
    • REAR SUCTION HEADS lift sheets with the aid of air blasts while the drum suction wheel transfers the paper to the antistatic alignment table leading to the folding rollers. 
    • Setup and operation is through a touchscreen L4 Controller (1).

    SAF Bottom Suction Feeder

    • CONTINUOUS-LOAD SAF FEEDER has air channels in the side rails for separating sheets to aid the bottom-suction drum in moving the paper to the antistatic stainless steel register table.
